Congratulations to our class officers, the reunion committee, the worship committee and all who worked so hard to make this reunion a time we will remember for years to come. The web page was/is so helpful to connect and share our stories. Thanks for keeping it up for another year!

Although "the uninvolved" probably don't have a clue, many thanks to each and every person involved in making last weekend possible. It was GREAT ... to say the least! To reconnect was a foretaste of heaven! For me Ken was the "frosting on the cake"! What a marvelous gift of Papa's grace! And, he even promotes dancing in worship! What have we come to?

While missing those that have gone on, it was really great to see everyone again. In looking over the entries on the web page I am struck by the number of people who have made it their lifes work to help other people or have in retirement done so.  This seemed to be so even before it was as emphasised in the churches. I think this outlook was put in place when we were at Chrisitan High and it shines through even now.

Interesting question! Interesting crystal ball you're using, too. Does it show if at the rate we are going we will still be a free country then? Maybe the government in 2021 won't allow a Christian High School class, especially one with actual veterans, to even have a reunion!

If still motivating, I'm on board! And since I don't drink (much), it will be better for all the rest of you sharing the magnum!  M>

Interesting Question?  Crystal Ball? Loss of freedom?  I just got your I'm on Board notice, Tom...so perhaps I have missed a lot in between??  Do tell!  MC (Vander Wal) Barton

Many thanks to Jim who takes his time and effort to keep this website up and running. It is a tribute to him and to the class of GRCHS Class of 1961.

In these turbulent times with many changes occurring, I suggest that this site remain one which is devoid of politics and political talk. We, or speaking for myself, hear too much of what politicians promise us, only to be discouraged when the promises are not kept.

I encourage everyone to please at least keep this one website left devoted, and limited to our class, our families, and what we did and what we are doing, without the heated political rhetoric that some feel they must insert every moment they get a chance. Our 1961 GRCHS class was not raised monolithic as families did not all march to one tune back in the 50's and 60's. We all still may differ on our politics but that, thankfully, is what makes this Country great with free and open speech. However, to keep this 1961 class website free of politics woud be refreshing. Reading comments on this website about Trump, sanctuary cities, and the dreamers, and a "dark day for us when Trump was elected" does nothing but allow one to use this website as their personal political soapbox and that's too bad. Our political views are not all the same and are not monolithic. If you want to talk politics with someone in the class of 1961, then phone them, text or email them but please don't use this website to share your political views.

May God bless each and everyone of the GRCHS Class of 1961, their families, and friends, regardless of their political views, liberal, conservative, independent, or non involved. But let's keep this website one last place where politics and political viewpoints are not included.

Thank you all and may God bless us, all of us.

I also agree with Robert Blok's suggestion.  We might have been a pretty 'radical' bunch at GRCHS, but I note the passing of decades has mellowed us, including me!

It is gratifying to note that our old GRCHS building is now functioning as an early childhood learning center and also incorporates affordable housing units. The school chapel serves as a local church. The building is registered as a National Historic Landmark which means it will be there for many years to come.
