I volunteer my time with our homeowner's association and serving as an elder in our Presbyterian church. I love visiting my children and grandchildren, playing golf, knitting, scrap-booking and card-making.

I attended and graduated from Wheaton College in 1965. Was married to Jim Larson (Wheaton 1964), for 20 years. Had my 3 children with Jim. Was divorced in 1986. Jim passed away Jan 6, 2011 from complications of diabetes and sleep apnea. I worked for Glendale Community College for 22 years as a Parent Educator and administrator for non-credit adult education programs including lifelong learning seminars for seniors, job training programs and parenting programs. I met and married Mike Southerland in 1994 and we are currently living in Polson, MT by Flathead Lake.
I earned a masters degree in early childhood and human development from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena CA and a PhD in Education from Claremont Graduate University.

I remember fondly my large group of friends that would get together for potlucks before basketball games.
