Duncan and I enjoy time with family and grandchildren; travel, hiking, theatre, music, cross country skiing, reading. Two of our children live close by, along with four granddaughters. We enjoy travelling to visit our other two children, who are currently living in Texas and Trinidad.
I volunteer in my 8 year old granddaughter's classroom. She attends the school from which I retired, and I love connecting with former colleagues and longtime friends at the same time I'm volunteering. I play flute in church and small groups; and am involved in social justice issues at church and the community. We attend the United Churches of Olympia.
Two of my sisters and families also live in Olympia; another sister in Seattle; and one in LA. We enjoy having a large extended family close by here in the Northwest.

61-65 Attended Calvin College; BA with majors in English and phiosophy
65-67 Lived in New Orleans. Taught English at Dillard University
67-84 Lived in Minneapolis. Taught in the Minneapolis and Hopkins School Districts. Also attended graduate school at University of Minnesota. MA in Communications/Journalism; Specialist Degree in Educational Psychology
84-present Living in Olympia, WA. Worked in Olympia and Tumwater School Districts as elementary school counselor and education spcialist (coordinating special programs). Retired June 09.

I have memories of wonderful friendships and outstanding teachers. The Emblem staff, band and cheerleading at basketball games are also special memories.
